Accounting Expert German GAAP (HGB) and German Taxes

Your role: 
The position requires experience and education within accounting and taxes focused on German GAAP (HGB), working knowledge of the German tax regulations and IFRS. Place of work will be in the Susonity office in Warszawa. The tasks shall focus on supporting three Susonity legal entities in Germany (production, trading and corporate services).

Primary tasks:

• Accounting – monitor the Legal Entities’ Balance Sheet and P&L (HGB and IFRS), Key figure analysis, report abnormalities; monitor statutory accounts and prepare annual statutory accounts in alignment with Susonity Group Accounting & Tax
• Tax – support central tax function in ensuring local tax compliance (e.g. monthly VAT, income tax, withholding tax, customs, tax accounting, contacts to tax authorities)
• Primary interface to Susonity’s Shared Service Centre
• In addition (also in function of your personal experience) support Susonity accounting + tax for other Group entities in Europe
• Other administrative matters – support German management and operational functions regarding administrative tasks
• Reporting line: locally/hierarchically to the MD of Susonity Poland, functionally to the Susonity Head of Accounting and Consolidation with dedicated function specific links to central Tax function.

Requirements:

• Min. 5 years relevant work experience in accounting roles in manufacturing
• Very good knowledge of HGB and solid of IFRS, incl. practical experience in preparing financial statements and accompanying reports under HGB
• Practical knowledge of tax laws and related hands-on experience
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial analysis and reporting
• Diligent, detail-oriented, strong organizational skills and compliance mindset
• Solid know how of SAP (S/4 Hana) and Excel
• Good communication and interpersonal skills in an international context, capable of engaging with diverse internal and external stakeholders
• Education: min. Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting (or similar)
• Language: very good knowledge of German, English and Polish
