Laboratory technician (all genders) - Sunscreens - Actives - Repellents
Your role: Your role will focus on evaluating organic and inorganic UV filters, active ingredients plus insect repellents. You will develop science based unique selling propositions (USPs) for these systems intended for cosmetic applications/biocidal products.
Your daily tasks will include assessing various properties such as visual effects, handling, texture, homogeneity, stability, and SPF ratings. You will be involved in elaboration of new scientific data to establish new positioning for the products and its use in final applications.
A solid understanding of basic analytical techniques is essential, including color measurement tools, rancimat tests, SPF testing (in vitro), rheology, and microscopy. It is important to follow objective scientific procedures. Strong English communication and presentation skills will help you prepare reports and summarize findings effectively.
Your contribution will be valuable in evaluating our portfolio of UV filters, active ingredients and repellents. In this role, you will help to ensure that laboratory operations run smoothly and safely by processing documents and data.
This position is located in the Rhine-Main area and requires collaboration with an international network.
Who you are:
- A laboratory technician (all genders) with at least 2 years of experience in the field of cosmetics
- You have in-depth knowledge of and a genuine interest in cosmetic science, experience in laboratory measurement technology (SPF, HPLC, analytics, UV) and control such as color measurements, skin and sun protection product evaluations, and support in the evaluation of repellents. A good sense of color and knowledge of cosmetic formulation are an advantage
- You have a solid experience in sun expertise and SPF measurements (in vitro, all technologies) and their interpretation, as well as statistical data management
- You possess knowledge of laboratory techniques for hands-on work, along with strong organizational, problem-solving (new technology evaluation), attention to detail, and analytical skills
- You understand the principles of product evaluation and physical measurements, including color measurement, Hazemeter usage, texture evaluation methods and UV spectrophotometry, as well as consumer testing relevant to product formulations
- You are familiar with using databases like COSMEDOS or others lab related databases
- You are fluent in both English and German
- You have strong presentation skills
- You excel in collaboration and teamwork
